Your files stay on your device

Most online PDF tools work by uploading your document to a server, processing it there and sending it back. These tools do not. The processing code runs in your browser, so the file never travels anywhere — which matters most for exactly the documents people most often need to edit: contracts, ID scans, medical forms and tax paperwork.

Are these PDF tools really free?
Yes. Every tool on this site is free to use, with no account, no sign-up, no trial and no watermark on anything you download. There is no paid tier holding back the useful features.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool in this first version runs entirely in your browser, using your own device's memory and processor. Your documents are never transmitted to us, which is why the tools keep working even if your connection drops after the page has loaded.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Everything runs on this website in a normal browser. There is no desktop app, extension or plugin to install.
Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?
Not in this version. The editor is designed for adding new text, images, signatures, drawings, shapes, and links on top of a PDF. Rewriting the text that is already in a document is not included in the first version, and we would rather say so than let you find out after uploading.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit, but there is a practical one: the work happens in your browser, so very large files are bounded by the memory your browser can allocate. You will see a warning above 50 MB and a stronger one above 100 MB rather than a silent failure.
Do the tools work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. Every tool is built for touch screens as well as desktops. Very large documents are slower on a phone, because mobile browsers are given less memory to work with.
