Replies usually arrive within a few days. There is one person behind this address, so the honest range is anywhere between an hour and a week, depending on what else that person is doing.

Please do not send us your files

This whole site exists so that your documents never leave your device. Attaching one to an email undoes that in a single click, and it puts a copy of your contract or your bank statement in an inbox that did not need it.

A description of the file is almost always enough to diagnose a problem: the page count, the rough size, where it came from, and what the tool did instead of what you expected. If a sample genuinely turns out to be the only way forward, we will ask, and you can create a throwaway document that contains nothing real.

What to include

  • Report a bug

Tell us which tool, which browser and version, whether you were on a phone or a desktop, what you expected, and what happened instead. If the file itself is the problem, describe it rather than attaching it: how many pages, roughly how large, whether it came from a scanner, and whether any other PDF reader complains about it.

  • Suggest a tool or a change

Say what you were trying to get done, not just which feature you want. The task is more useful than the solution, because it occasionally turns out that an existing tool already covers it and the real problem is that you could not find it.

  • Ask about privacy

Questions about how files are handled are always welcome, and the short answer is on the privacy policy page. If something on this site contradicts that page, that is a bug worth reporting and it will be treated as one.

Why there is no contact form

A contact form has to send what you typed somewhere, which means a server that receives it, a database that stores it, and a service that forwards it. Online PDF Editing has none of those, deliberately. Every tool on this site runs inside your browser, and the pages you are reading are static files. Adding a form would mean adding the first piece of backend infrastructure to a site whose entire argument is that it does not have any.

An email address is less fashionable and considerably more honest. It also means your message goes directly from your mail provider to ours, with nothing of ours sitting in the middle logging it.

Response times, stated plainly

There is no support team, no ticketing system and no service level agreement to point at. Most messages get a reply within a few days. A detailed bug report with a browser name and a clear description usually gets one faster, because it can be acted on immediately rather than answered with a question.

Messages that are obviously automated, or that offer search engine optimisation services, will be read with interest and then ignored.

Other pages worth checking first

Several of the most common questions already have an answer somewhere on the site, and reading it will be quicker than waiting for a reply:

  • Privacy Policy, for exactly what happens to your files and what is and is not collected.
  • Terms of Service, for the as-is nature of the tools and the files that will not work.
  • Guides, for how to do a specific task and the settings that matter for it.
  • Alternatives, for whether this site or a larger service is the right tool for your job.
  • About, for who runs this and why it exists at all.

Legal and rights enquiries

Notices about intellectual property, trademark use, or anything else with a legal dimension can go to the same address and will be handled personally. Note that this site never receives, stores, or hosts user documents, so there is no uploaded content for it to remove: files exist only in the browser of the person working on them, and are gone when that tab closes.

Everything else, and anything not covered above, goes to contact@pdfediting.online.
